Camas woman dies after motorcycle collision with deer on Washougal road

Jennifer Doody, 44, was riding with her husband, Jason Doody, and a group of motorcyclists Sunday morning when the accident occurred

A Camas woman has died from injuries sustained in a Sunday morning motorcycle crash.

According to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Jennifer Doody, 44, was riding with her husband, Jason Doody, on his motorcycle near the 38200 block of Northeast Vernon Road in Washougal at 11:23 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, when a deer crossed the roadway in front of them.

Jason and Jennifer Doody’s motorcycle crashed into the deer, killing the animal, and ejecting the couple from their bike. Jason and Jennifer Doody had been leading a group of eight motorcycles on the two-lane, winding road near the Skamania County line when the collision occurred. A motorcyclist riding directly behind the Doodys also crashed and was injured in the accident. 

Jason Doody was injured but was not transported to the hospital. Jennifer Doody was transported to an unnamed local hospital with critical injuries. The Sheriff’s Office reported this afternoon that Jennifer Doody had succumbed to her injuries and been pronounced dead.  

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit is continuing its investigation into the crash.
