PUBLIC MEETINGS

Camas Parks and Recreation Commission: The Commission will hold a special meeting at 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at the Lacamas Lake Lodge, 227 N.E. Lake Road, Camas. LIBRARY PROGRAMS

Camas Public Library: The library will be closed on Monday, Jan. 20, in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Baby Storytime will be held at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16. Preschool Storytime for children ages 3 to 5 years will be held at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17, and at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21. Tiny Tots Storytime will be held at 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22. The LEGO Club will meet from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16. Game Night for Adults will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18. One-on-one technology help with things like setting up email accounts and navigating the internet will be available from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21. The English conversation group will meet from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21. Read to the dog during 15-minute slots from 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21. Basic Counsel, an impartial lawyer-based support group, will provide free legal help from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22. “Book 2 Art,” a book club and crafting group for adults, will meet to discuss Cristina Henriquez’ book, “The Book of Unknown Americans,” and make a craft inspired by the book from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23. CLASSES

NatureScaping: Susie Peterson, a backyard habitat certification program manager with Columbia Land Trust, will present a workshop class on creating habitat and sustainable gardening from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 18 at the CASEE Center, building B, room 205, 11104 N.E. 149th St., Brush Prairie. The class, a collaboration among the Columbia Land Trust, Portland Audubon and the Watershed Alliance of Southwest Washington, will cover topics such as removing noxious weeds; stormwater management; gardening without pesticides; and wildlife stewardship. The class is free for NatureScaping members and costs $15 for non-members. NatureScaping membership costs $20 a year or $15 for seniors.
