The Washougal School District’s food truck received a colorful makeover, featuring a logo inspired by recent Washougal High School graduate Luke Flock, on July 15.

Flock submitted his idea as part of a student contest to design a logo and wrapping for the truck, which the district purchased in 2020 to offer its career and technical education students a real-world opportunity to run their own business, dubbed “Shoug Shack” after a student vote earlier this year.

Flock’s concept included a panther roaming the outdoors and a logo design featuring a fork and spoon to represent a roof over the words “Shoug Shack.”

The district is planning for the food truck to open for business this fall.

“The community will be able to hire the truck to provide food for special events, and students will gain real-world work experience in all areas of operating a food truck business,” according to a Facebook post.
