Camas city, fire officials urge ‘no fireworks’ this Fourth of July

Camas-Washougal Fire Department officials ask residents in Camas, Washougal to refrain from discharging fireworks due to 'extreme heat, dry conditions and elevated wildfire risk'

The city of Camas and the Camas-Washougal Fire Department are urging residents in Camas and Washougal to avoid discharging fireworks over the upcoming Fourth of July holiday.

“Due to the extreme heat, dry conditions and elevated wildfire risk, Camas-Washougal Fire Department officials are urging residents of both cities to refrain from discharging fireworks this season,” city officials stated in a press release sent Wednesday, June 23.  “Please do your part to keep our communities and neighborhoods safe this upcoming holiday weekend.”
