Camas and Washougal city council members will participate in a virtual joint work session about the future of the Camas-Washougal Fire Department from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18.

Consultants from Merina+CO, a Tualatin, Oregon-based consultant working with the cities, will present and validate initial findings from their analysis of the cities’ partnership to provide fire and emergency medical services, according to the city of Washougal’s website.

In October, consultants from Merina+CO told city officials in Camas and Washougal their investigation found the joint fire department would likely need three new stations within the next decade, including a new fire department headquarters as the CWFD’s current Station 41 would not withstand a major earthquake.

The public session can watch the meeting online on Zoom at zoom.us/j/99588075385  (webinar ID 995 8807 5385). For more information, call 360-835-8501.
