On Dec. 6, Camas and Washougal high school students will load school buses with donations for community members in need as part of the Camas-Washougal Business Alliance’s annual “Stuff the Bus” food-drive campaign.

Community members are invited to drop off non-perishable canned or boxed foods and household supplies at Camas and Washougal or any Camas-Washougal Fire Department station, or make cash donations at any IQ Credit Union.

Donations will benefit the C.A.R.O.L. Program, Skamania County’s American Legion, the Children’s Home Society’s East County Family Resource Center in Washougal and the Inter-faith Treasure House in Camas.

The friendly competition between the school districts will announce a “winner” after weighing the buses packed with donations to see which school district has collected the most — or at least the heaviest — donations.

In 2019, local students collected more than 46,000 pounds of food, according to the Washougal School District.
