Camas football falls to Kamiakin

The Kamiakin football team beat Camas 35-14 in a 4A state tournament quarterfinal contest at Lampson Stadium in Kennewick on Nov. 20, ending the Papermakers’ season.

The Papermakers (7-5) lost their first four games of the season to Oregon powerhouses, then won their next seven contests.

Camas volleyball takes 5th at state

The Camas volleyball team won three of its four matches at the 4A state tournament, held Nov. 19-20 at the Yakima Valley SunDome, to bring home a fifth-place trophy.

The Papermakers (21-2) opened tournament play with a 25-13, 25-15, 25-17 win over North Creek. They lost to Graham-Kapowsin 23-25, 25-23, 25-13, 25-18 in a quarterfinal matchup, but defeated Gonzaga Prep 21-25, 25-20, 25-12, 25-18 in a consolation bracket match and beat Mount Rainier 25-19, 15-25, 25-14, 25-11 in the fifth/sixth-place match.
