The city of Washougal is inviting individuals to deliver a brief invocation at the start of city council meetings.
“The invocation is offered for the benefit of the council and is meant to add solemnity to the meetings and seek wisdom and guidance for the council as they engage in critical issues that affect Washougal residents,” according to a news release.
The invocation may or may not be faith-based; may include the presentation of non-religious positive, inspirational and uplifting statements; and should not exceed 1 minute; and is limited to once per quarter per participant.
Council meetings take place at 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of the month via Zoom until further notice.
