The Community Foundation for Southwest Washington has opened public nominations for its Philanthropist of the Year and Community Champion awards.

The deadline for submissions is 5 p.m. Thursday, April 7. More information and an online nomination form are available at cfsww.org/awards.

The local grantmaking organization established the Philanthropist of the Year award to recognize individuals, couples, families or foundations that serve as exemplars of generosity in our community through their outstanding charitable support, leadership and service. Its revamped Community Champion Award celebrates individuals or organizations that are deeply engaged in communities, applying their time and talents to our region’s most pressing issues in order to improve the quality of life for Southwest Washington residents.

The Community Foundation welcomes all applicants and aims to reflect and honor the many ways that people are caring for their communities in Southwest Washington. These awards are part of the Southwest Washington Philanthropy Awards lineup, which is presented during the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington’s annual celebration.

This year’s event will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. June 7, at the Hilton Vancouver. Tickets will be available for purchase online beginning April 1 at cfsww.org.

Established in 1984, the Community Foundation helps Southwest Washingtonians build a more vibrant community by inspiring investments in local philanthropy. The Foundation holds more than 380 charitable funds, which are actively invested to generate growth and income for granting purposes. For more information, visit  www.cfsww.org.
