Camas Days Senior Royal Court seeks nominations

Downtown festival returns July 22-23 after 2-year pause

The GFWC Camas-Washougal Women’s Club is seeking nominations for the 2022 Camas Days Senior Royal Court.

Nominees must be age 55 or older, a resident of Camas or Washougal, be active in the community and have a history of local volunteer service.

Nomination forms are available at the Camas-Washougal Chamber of Commerce building at 422 N.E. Fourth Ave., in downtown Camas.

Entries should include the name of the person or couple being nominated for the royal court, as well as their volunteer activities and a narrative of why the nominee(s) should be selected.

Nominations are due by Friday, June 2, and should be mailed to GFWC Camas-Washougal Women’s Club, Attn: Royal Court, P.O. Box 319, Washougal, WA 98671.

The Camas Days Senior Royalty Coronation and dessert reception will be held on Wednesday, July 13. Tickets for the event cost $5 per person and can be purchased by calling Jeanette Jester at 360-834-2354.

The court will be a featured part of the 2022 Camas Days Parade on Saturday, July 23, and will be celebrated with past Camas Days royalty following the parade.

Kay and Ann Prouty were named the Camas Days King and Queen in 2020. The event was canceled in 2021, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
