West Columbia Gorge Humane Society will hold its annual “A Tail to Remember” fundraising dinner and auction from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at the Heathman Lodge in Vancouver.

The event will feature a cocktail reception, dinner, “dessert dash” and live auction to raise funds for the Washougal-based nonprofit organization.

The fundraiser’s silent option, which went live on Wednesday, March 6, will remain open through the cocktail reception’s “Super Silent Auction,” and close at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 10.

“Our vision is for all pets to live healthy lives in loving homes,” the WCGHS’ website states. “In order to make that happen, it takes resources — a shelter that is warm in the winter and cool in the summer, clean bedding, a caring and experienced staff, a running van for animal transportation, veterinary care, emergency treatments, behavior training, food, water, and basic supplies.

“The funds raised from this appeal will help us to continue to provide all of these things to the pets in our care, as well as continuing to provide community programs such as our pet food pantry and emergency veterinary assistance program.”
