City of Camas to kick off annual Movies in the Park series July 24

Concerts in the Park coming to Dorothy Fox Elementary School in August

Camas Parks and Recreation Department’s annual Concerts in the Park and Movies in the Park series kick off this month with two free, live music events at Dorothy Fox Park.

The Junebugs, a band described on the city’s website as “high-energy pop and rock with Pacific Northwest folk flair,” will perform from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 24. From 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 31, Jennifer Batten & Full Steam will perform “a celebration of top level ‘80s cover music.”

Both concerts will take place at Dorothy Fox Park, located at 2045 N.W. 23rd Ave., in Camas. Community members are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnic baskets to enjoy the free, family friendly performances under the open sky.

The city’s annual Movies in the Park series returns next month with five movies planned for every Friday in August, beginning at 8:45 p.m. Aug. 1 with a showing of “Barbie.” All of the Movies in the Park events will be held at Dorothy Fox Elementary School, 2623 N.W. Sierra St., Camas.

The city will host pre-movie entertainment one hour before the movies begin. Other movies included in the 2025 lineup include “Wicked” at 8:30 p.m. Aug. 8; the animated “Lilo & Stitch” at 8:15 p.m. Aug. 15; “A Minecraft Movie” at 8:15 p.m. Aug. 22; and “Moana 2” at 8 p.m. Aug. 29.
