Camas selects Kevin Bergstrom as new fire marshal

The city of Camas has selected Kevin Bergstrom as the next fire marshal for the Camas-Washougal Fire Department.

Bergstrom assumed the position March 16, replacing Ron Schumacher, who retired in January after 12 years in the role. He served as the CWFD’s deputy fire marshal since 2019.

“Kevin really stood out among the crowd and was the perfect choice for the role,” CWFD Chief Cliff Free said in the news release. “His prior experience as the deputy fire marshal really set him apart, and that knowledge will greatly benefit both communities.”

Bergstrom has a bachelor’s degree in fire service administration and is currently completing a master’s degree in public administration.
