High school swim coaches Kelly Dean and Sarah Dunn like to promote the sport of swimming as a lifetime sport.

The two women are putting that into practice by competing on the Camas Goldfish Masters, a masters swim team that represents Gold’s Gym Camas.

On April 18-19, the team competed at the 2026 Oregon Masters Swimming Association Short Course Championships in Hood River, Ore.

The small team of eight swimmers brought home the Team Spirit Award, which was voted on by other teams at the meet.

Masters swimming is competitive swimming for anyone over the age of 18. The Camas Goldfish Masters train at Gold’s Gym Camas under coach Nick Benvenuti.

Dean is the coach at Camas High School, and Dunn is the coach at Fort Vancouver/Hudson’s Bay.

The other members of the team include Nancy Vincent, Angela Fladlovich, Brian Vincent, Lauren Wickholm, Larry Wright, Christie Seumalo and Stacey Ostrin.

“Some people are like Kelly and me and swam in college and have lot of experience,” Dunn said. “Some are triathletes who like training with a group. Some just do it to stay fit and socialize. Some of our swimmers also volunteer as officials at local swim meets, and some are past or present swim parents.”
