For two years, Dodie Baker endured intense hot flashes that disrupted her sleep. Eventually, she and her doctor decided to try hormone therapy to treat her menopausal symptoms — a decision they made at a time when hormone therapy was widely viewed as risky.

Fifteen years later, the Vancouver Clinic patient credits the treatment with helping her maintain a sense of normalcy in her life.
