Community Coalition plans Red Ribbon Week celebration UNITE! Washougal Community Coalition is inviting the community to celebrate National Red Ribbon Week by purchasing a coffee or smoothie in a special cup with student artwork with the theme, "Love Yourself, Be Drug Free."

Washougal High School students were provided the chance to get up close and personal with state and national leaders at a recent Portland political rally.

Dawn Tarzian, Washougal School Board superintendent, administers the oath of office to new School Board member Teresa Lees on Tuesday evening. Lees will represent district one, which has been vacant since last spring.

Lees joins WSD board of directors

After several months with a vacant seat, the Washougal School Board welcomed its newest member Tuesday evening. Teresa Lees, a mother of six Washougal students, will represent the patrons in district one, which was vacated by Jocelyn Lindsay last spring when she moved out of town.

'Frozen' party is set for Friday Washougal Community Education is hosting a "Frozen" party Friday, Oct. 10 from noon to 3 p.m.

Woodburn Elementary School third-grade teacher Tara Obermiller is a state finalist for a national award in math and science instruction. She is one of five teachers from across Washington who will be considered for the honor.

Lamb named to dean's list at Azusa Pacific Azusa Pacific University student Lauren Lamb, of Camas, made the academic dean's list for spring semester.
