WHS wrestling squads feature state-tested veterans

For the past 26 years Washougal High School’s (WHS) wrestling program has sent at least one wrestler to Mat Classic, and this year both the Panthers’ boys and girls teams plan to have wrestlers at the Tacoma Dome once again.

CHS boys basketball looks to make statement in loaded league

The Camas High School (CHS) boys basketball team’s 2019-2020 season kicked off at home on Dec. 5 when the Papermakers faced Prairie High School. Noticeably missing from the CHS roster were several top players, including senior Jackson Clemmer, the only returning starter.

Former Camas mayor a Papermaker for life

For long-time fans of Camas High School (CHS) athletics, rejoicing in the school’s second state football championship in the past four years is a joy beyond words.

CHS football team wins state championship

An epic celebration erupted at Mount Tahoma Stadium in Tacoma on Saturday, Dec. 7, when Camas High School (CHS) senior quarterback Blake Asciutto kneeled to the turf on the final play of the 4A state championship game, sealing the Papermakers’ second title in the past four years.

O-lineman making a difference on CHS sidelines after injury

Caadyn Stephen, the Camas High School (CHS) football team’s top college recruit, announced his decision to play for the University of Southern California (USC) before the start of the 2019 season, but a sore back forced him to the sidelines in late September.

WHS football loses in heartbreaker

A bitter cold wind swept through Civic Stadium in Bellingham prior to kickoff, but the Washougal High School (WHS) football team could not have been hotter to start its 2A state quarterfinal game against Lynden High School (LHS) on Saturday, Nov. 23.
