Eli Tomac (3) won the 450 Class moto 2, in the Peterson CAT Washougal National, Saturday at Washougal Motocross Park. He placed second in the first moto and captured the overall win in the 450 class.

For the love of motocross

From the young girls selling lemonade and cookies near the entrance to Washougal Motocross Park before 8 a.m. Saturday, to the families throwing footballs, grilling dinner and waving to passersby in the parking lot 11 hours later, there were many sights and sounds to experience at the Peterson CAT Washougal National.

The Camas Little League 9- to 11-year-old all-stars captured the district championship Thursday, at Forest Home Park in Camas. Players are Easton McCarty, Kaisen Burr, Jackson Knuth, Zach Blair, Stephen Behil, Justin Taylor, Carson Gilligan, Cannon Bauman, Tyler Stewart, Cade Gehlen, Holt Williams, Ethan Hubbell and Aaron Sung. Casey Taylor is the manager, and Bryan Williams and Bryce Gehlen are the coaches.

Camas stars are champions again

Trailing in front of their hometown crowd for the first time in the district tournament, the 9- to 11-year-old all-stars from Camas Little League needed a boost.

Alexa Efraimson is in Bydgoszcz, Poland, to compete in the U-20 World Championships. The 19-year-old from Camas wants to be the first American to win a medal in the 1,500-meter run.
