Carla Elaine Rodgers

January 2, 1938 – January 4, 2025
Carla Elaine (Lovekamp) Rodgers passed away peacefully on Jan. 4, 2025. Elaine was born Jan. 2, 1938, in Beardstown, IL., to parents Werner and Josephine Lovekamp. In her early childhood the family moved to the Camas/Washougal area of Washington, where Elaine and her five younger sisters were raised.
Elaine attended Washougal High School. She met her husband, Franklin Wayne Rodgers, as teenagers and they later married. They settled in Camas, WA, where they raised their family. Elaine was a dedicated homemaker and talented seamstress. She enjoyed helping with her children’s sports and activities. She was very creative and artistic. She especially enjoyed painting with oil paints and watercolors. She was an avid golfer, and she and her husband were longtime members of Orchard Hills Golf and Country Club.
In retirement Elaine and Wayne enjoyed wintering at their vacation home in Mazatlán, Mexico. They later lived in Arizona, before settling back in Washougal, WA., to be near family. Elaine loved hosting family get-togethers, spending time with her grandchildren, and later her great-grandchildren.
Elaine is survived by her sisters Ada Lovekamp of Vancouver, WA; and April (Alan) Humes of Camas, WA; Her son Wayne (Sheree) Rodgers of Astoria, OR; her son Brad (Debbie) Rodgers of Camas, WA; and her daughter Dana (Chuck) Singleton of Washougal, WA; as well as seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents Werner and Josephine Lovekamp, her husband Wayne Rodgers, and sisters Judy Haag, Twyla Wilcox, and Lori Mauldin.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 22, from 1-4 p.m., at Orchard Hills Golf and Country Club, 605 39th St., Washougal, WA.
