Henry A. Smedley

November 29, 1926 – December 19, 2024

Henry A. Smedley was born in Deer Lodge, Montana, on November 29, 1926, and passed away on December 19, 2024 at the age of 98 after a short bout with pneumonia. Hank grew up on a farm in Brush Prairie, WA. He was a WWII veteran serving in the Pacific Theatre. Hank retired from Camas Crown Zellerbach in 1982. He enjoyed fishing and camping with family and friends. Hank was widowed in 1993 when his wife of over 40 years, Phyllis, passed. Henry and Stella Dayton were married in 1997 and spent a joyful time with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Hank is survived by his wife, Stella; his children, Henry Smedley (Laura), Richard Smedley (Carol), and Steven Smedley (Jane); and his stepchildren, Lauri Dayton (Cathy), Denise Myers (Joe), and Terese Dayton (Greg deceased); his brother, Richard Smedley; and his sister, Selina Allen. They have 21 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

Henry’s memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on January 10th, at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Camas, WA. Graveyard services immediately following at Lewisville Cemetery in Battle Ground, WA.
