Kenneth Miller Shold

Kenneth Miller Shold, 101, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones on March 4, 2024. He was born January 23, 1923, in Irondale, WA, the son of George and Tora Shold.

Ken graduated from Chimacum High School as Valedictorian in 1940 and went on to get his BA in Science and Masters in Chemistry from the University of Washington. He was a WWII veteran and served as a 2nd Lieutenant in General Patton’s 3rd Army. He retired from Crown Zellerbach/James River after 52 years as Kraft Mill Superintendent. Ken was a lifetime member of the Elks, the Moose, & the Masons and was a member of the VFW. He was a loyal patron of Hellers Restaurant and an avid fan of Jeopardy. He loved the Seattle Seahawks, the Seattle Mariners, as well as the Washington Huskies.

In addition to his parents and his siblings, Ken was preceded in death by his wife, Ruthie, of 42 years; his daughter, Donna Holmes; and his sons, Terry Davis and Steve Davis. Surviving are his daughters, Janet Fox (Dan), Thea Kooy (Mike), Gayle Ann Jarvie, and Chris Gallas (Jim) and his son Brian Shold; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Journey Church, 304 NE 4th Ave, Camas, WA 98607. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. on March 10th at Greenwood Cemetery, Chimacum, WA 98325.
