Camas Hall of Fame 2016

Wade Whiting was inducted into the Camas Hall of Fame for his accomplishments in basketball, cross country, football and tennis between 1998 and 2001. He earned 11 varsity letters, was selected to the all-league team three times in basketball and earned the school's Male Athlete of the Year award in 2001.

Duane Engler was inducted into the Camas Hall of Fame for his contributions in four sports. He was quarterback for the 1969 football team that went 7-1 and won the league title. He scored 251 points during his senior season on the basketball team. Engler also pitched for the Papermakers, and threw the shot put and javelin.

Chairta Parsons Haddan joins the Camas Hall of Fame after leading the girls soccer team to the state championship in 2005. She was voted as a Defensive Player of the Year and an All-State MVP that season.

Camas Hall of Fame Scholar Athlete Greg Partain found his calling in playing tennis and classical music. He won the district single's championship during his senior year in 1978, and finished in fourth place at the state tournament. He was a member of the National Honor Society, studied abroad in Germany, participated in Joyce Garver's choir program, served three years as class president and graduated as a salutatorian.

Dan Liehr earned a spot in the Camas Hall of Fame for his success on the basketball court. He led the Papermakers in scoring and blocked shots during his senior year in 1983. He was also a good rebounder, and averaged a double-double a game in 1982 and 1983.

Camas Hall of Honor inductees Pete Loop and Don Chaney have been moving the chains during football games for the past four decades. Through good weather and bad, they have enjoyed the "best view" of the Camas community at Doc Harris Stadium.

Bob Holman returned to Camas to be inducted into the Hall of Fame as a coach. He took over a struggling football program in 1997 and turned it into a powerhouse. During Holman's 11 seasons as head coach, the Papermakers reached the playoffs seven times and made four appearances in the state tournament.
