Camas senior Daniel Maton cruises to victory, lapping most competitors in the 3,200-meter at Skyview High School. The two-time state champion in the 800-meter and 1,600-meter will run for the University of Washington next season.

With track and field season in full swing, members of the Camas boys’ track and field team are gearing up for a run to repeat as state champions, a title it shared last year with three other 4A track and field teams.

The Papermakers’ talent and depth helped them win both the McMinnville Invitational on April 19 and a dual meet at Skyview on April 16. Once again leading the charge this season is senior mid-distance and distance runner Daniel Maton, a two-time state champion for Camas in both the 800 and 1,600 meters.
