Hathaway hosts harvest festival Hathaway Elementary School, 630 24th St., in Washougal, will host its first annual harvest festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25 at the school. Activities will include bounce houses, a barbecue, mini golf, bingo, craft fair, raffles and a cake walk. Proceeds will benefit the school. PTA to hold meeting The Prune Hill Elementary School PTA will host its first general membership meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6 in the school library, 1601 N.W. Tidland St., in Camas. Free childcare is available. Camas School District seeks advisory committee members In preparation for the new school year, the Camas School District is seeking volunteers to serve on the district's Citizens Advisory Committee. It consists of 18 to 25 school district patrons who advise school administrators and board members on a variety of issues. Meetings are held the first Monday of each month during the school year. Interested citizens are encouraged to attend the next meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4. at Helen Baller Elementary School, 1954 N.E. Garfield St. Applications to CAC can be completed at the meeting, online at www.camas.wednet.edu or by contacting Lynette Marshall at 833-5412. All completed applications should be returned to the Camas School District administration office, 841 N.E. 22nd Ave., by no later than Wednesday, Oct. 1. Local teens have art displayed at museum The Maryhill Museum of Art will feature art by four local teens, among those from other cities, at its "Comics at the Crossroads: Art of the Graphic Novel," exhibition. The exhibition will run from Saturday, Sept. 18 to Monday, Nov. 15. Local teens include Taylor Manning, Sergio Marroquin, Ian Sams and Dawain Bell. They were selected for the exhibition after participating in a free comic art workshop at the Washougal Community Library in August. Sean McGill, library branch manager, said the workshops were well matched to the interests of teens who frequent the library. "We have a large collection of graphic novels and we have a lot of readers," he said. "They are super popular." He is also excited that local teens will have their work on display. "It's an incredible opportunity," McGill said. The teens will talk about their art at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18 as a part of opening day festivities. The museum is located at 35 Maryhill Museum Drive, Goldendale, Wash. It is open seven days a week, including all holidays, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., through Nov. 15. Local woman graduates from University of Idaho Elizabeth Anne Hankins of Camas has earned a bachelor of science degree in psychology from the University of Idaho at Moscow. Commencement ceremonies were held earlier this year.
