Camas school board names interim superintendent

The Camas School Board voted unanimously Thursday evening to appoint Doug Hood, the district’s director of elementary education, as its interim superintendent for the 2021-22 school year.

Washougal family makes most of pandemic, hits the road

Washougal resident Andy Dryden started talking with his wife, Heidi, about embarking on a cross-country road trip last summer after he learned that he would be working remotely and their two young sons would be learning remotely in the fall because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Post-Record wins top honor

The Camas-Washougal Post-Record recently won a first-place General Excellence award for newspapers its size in Washington state and Managing Editor Kelly Moyer took home the first-place “News Writer of the Year” award in the Washington Newspaper Publishers Association (WNPA)’s 2018 Better Newspaper Contest.

Maxine Ambrose, 88, a Camas native and daughter of the very first Camas Days king and queen, Earl and Fae Miller, has been named the 2018 Camas Days Queen. Her coronation will take place on Wednesday, July 18.

Queen no stranger to royalty

Maxine Ambrose, queen of the 2018 Camas Days festival, is no stranger to royalty — her parents, Earl and Fae Miller, were the very first Camas Days king and queen and she herself was the Junior Queen of the 1940 Paper Festival.
