Wysaske elected to bankers board The president and chief operating officer of Riverview Community Bank was elected as a director of the Community Bankers of Washington Board of Directors during the group's annual meeting held in September. Ron Wysaske, of Washougal, joined Riverview Community Bank in 1976 and has served as president and COO since 2004. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Washington State University, and is active in numerous professional, educational and civic organizations. The Community Bankers of Washington was founded in 1989 to serve as a distinct and authoritative voice for community banks throughout the Evergreen State. Washougal woman earns certification honor The Society of Certified Insurance Counselors recently honored Washougal resident Susan Chambers of Davidson Insurance of Vancouver for significant commitment to advanced knowledge and customer service. She has successfully maintained the Certified Insurance Counselor designation for more than 10 years. Chambers is an insurance agent working with personal and commercial clients for Davidson Insurance for 17 years and in the insurance industry for 22 years. The CIC program is a nationally recognized continuing education program for insurance professionals. Oliver's hosts special dinner events in October A series of popular dinner events at a local restaurant are benefitting the Camas Farmers Market. Oliver's at the Camas Hotel is hosting several Farmers Market Sunday Dinners this month at its location at 401 N.E. Fourth Ave., in downtown Camas. Each event begins at 4 p.m., and includes a three-course meal. Upcoming dinners include the Oct. 23 Farmer's Dinner With Yacolt Mountain Farm;" and the Oct. 30, "Farmer's Dinner with Foxfire Farms." Cost is $25 per person.According to Chef Morris Fenton, 25 percent of the proceeds will go to the "Save the Market" campaign. C-TRAN ballot measure is Chamber luncheon topic The C-Tran bus service ballot measure will be the topic of discussion during the next Camas-Washougal Chamber of Commerce Luncheon on Thursday, Oct. 20, at 11:30 a.m., at Camas Meadows Golf Club. Keynote speaker Jeff Hamm, C-TRAN CEO, will give details about the issue that is on the Nov. 8 General Election ballot. The two-tenths of a percent sales tax increase is proposed to preserve existing bus service levels and meet the projected growth of the federally mandated para-transit service.
