Donations for Children’s Center are accepted locally

A business in downtown Camas is among the companies accepting gift items, such as board games, art materials and soccer balls, for the Children’s Center. New and unwrapped toys, stuffed animals, hats, mittens, gift cards and movie passes can be dropped off with Minda Coombs, a sales associate for the A.L. Insurance Group, Inc., 418 N.E. Fourth Ave.

On Thursday, the Camas-Washougal Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual Holiday Gift Basket Luncheon. Attendees will have the opportunity to buy gift basket raffle tickets for $1 apiece.

Wedding for Dec. 11, 2012

Balarie and Heberling Elisabeth Balarie and Taylor Andrew Heberling were married April 28, 2012, in an outdoor ceremony with a dinner reception at Laguna Town Hall in Elk Grove, Calif. Rev. Thomas Schaive officiated. An outdoor dinner reception was then held May 19, 2012, at the home of the groom’s parents in Camas.

Letters to the Editor for Dec. 11, 2012

Port is a model of local government Heather Acheson's Dec. 4 editorial, "Leaders are taking the port in the right direction" very correctly highlights the recent positive accomplishments of our Port of Camas-Washougal. However, when she says, "this group of leaders has made great strides on behalf of the port in recent years," she definitely understates the reality.
