Tiffani Pekkala, a Camas teen, joined other young people between the ages of 15 and 22 at the nation's capitol in Washington, D.C. They were there to tell elected officials their personal stories of living with rare and life-threatening diseases.

Sophomores Mackenzie Amos and Rachel Gibson polished off a couple of corner kicks from senior Olivia Lovell for Camas goals. The Papermakers held on to beat Kelso 2-1 Oct. 25, to clinch the league championship. "It's exciting to help the seniors win on Senior Night," Amos said. "I was just in the right place at the right time."

Recently, Clark County Commissioner Tom Mielke said Vancouver city officials are considering requesting cancellation of a $4.4 million debt owed to the county, a debt related to the Hilton hotel. This is yet another example of a bailout for a wealthy corporation.
