RU OK? Friendly Caller Program relaunches

The relaunch of a “friendly caller” program that began in the 1980s and gained popularity with a variety of nonprofit and governmental groups during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic will help ensure the safety of isolated individuals living in Clark, Skamania and Klickitat counties.

Camas High School’s tennis court revamp gets environmental OK from City

The city of Camas has determined the Camas School District’s plan to revamp the Camas High School tennis courts — adding an all-weather dome and resurfacing the courts, installing new lights and improving an adjacent parking lot — will not adversely impact the environment.

Camas city councilor announces surprise resignation

Bonnie Carter, the longest-serving member of the Camas City Council, resigned unexpectedly Monday night, telling Camas Mayor Steve Hogan and other Council members that she planned to stay in her position through the Council’s Feb. 3 meeting.

Camas Council split on $6.17M land purchase

Camas City Council members this week narrowly approved a $6.17 million property purchase that will eventually house the city’s public works operations center.
