The Washougal School District is asking for community input as it begins the process of searching for a new superintendent.

Interested patrons are invited to fill out a survey, located on the district’s website, www.washougal.k12.wa.us.

Current Superintendent Teresa Baldwin is retiring this July after 40 years in education.

“It is the board’s intention to hire a superintendent who fits these basic qualifications: Works collaboratively with multiple entities and proactively engages the community, possesses a strong background with employee and labor relations, designs and implements long-range financial, organizational and capital facilities plans, provides strong financial analysis, and possesses excellent communication skills,” the survey states.

The survey has two questions. These are: 1. What are the five greatest strengths of the school district? 2. What are the three greatest challenges facing the school board?

All input is anonymous and for the sole use of the Washougal School Board.
