Washington’s 3rd Congressional District is an anomaly in the realm of national politics. It is one of the only districts nationwide that simultaneously voted for a Republican president and Democratic representative in 2022 and 2024. And, according to a recent Cook Political Report analysis, it is one of 18 districts that have shifted from “toss-up” to “leans Democrat” in the weeks leading up to the midterm election.
Voters will decide Nov. 3 whether to retain the two-term Democratic incumbent, Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, or send Republican state Senate Minority Leader John Braun to Washington, D.C.
