‘Thoroughly Modern Millie, Jr.’ continues

The Journey Theater Arts Group production of “Thoroughly Modern Millie, Jr.,” will continue through Sunday at The Washburn Performing Arts Center at Washougal High School, 1201 39th St.

The musical is based on the classic movie, with a full score of new songs and dance numbers.

Performance times are Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 3 and 7 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m.

A school day performance, with discounted ticket prices, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Tickets are available at www.JourneyTheater.org or at 750-8550.

Pre-sale prices are $12 for adults, while youth and senior tickets are $10.

All tickets are $3 more at the door. The show is recommended for those 8 and older.

Ramirez earns scholarship

Hali Ramirez of Camas has been awarded a Chicano Education Program’s Multicultural Achievement Scholarship of $2,000 for the 2013-14 academic year at Eastern Washington University.

This scholarship is awarded to students who have an interest in multicultural studies.

Ramirez, a freshman majoring in business, is the daughter of Michael and Lynette Ramirez.

Walmart collecting Stuff the Bus items

Walmart at 192nd Avenue is collecting non-perishable food items as part of the Stuff the Bus food drive, and will also host an event Saturday, Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with guests and activities throughout the day.

There will be free pictures with Santa all day, and a Camas-Washougal Fire Department truck on site from 11 a.m. to noon.

Washougal Mayor Sean Guard will also be there from 11 a.m. to noon. Bring or purchase food, clothing or toys to benefit local organizations.

Cape Horn-Skye announces Super Citizens

Cape Horn-Skye Elementary in Washougal has named its Super Citizens for the months of September and October.
