The owners and patients of Washougal Sport & Spine Physical Therapy will soon have some new views of downtown Washougal.

The five-year old practice, owned by Steve McCarthy and Kimberly Williams, both of Camas, will relocate from 1700 Main St., Ste. 222 to Suite 136, within Washougal Town Square, in February 2014.

McCarthy, a 1996 Camas High School graduate, said the new location will provide approximately 20 percent more space than the current suite — around 2,750 square feet, compared to 2,200.

The idea to move to the street-level space occurred during lease renewal negotiations with the building’s owner Wes Hickey, of Lone Wolf Development and Lone Wolf Investment.

“The opportunity to move to the retail level was proposed, and we found this to be mutually beneficial,” McCarthy said. “We will have more space and the ability to double our number of private treatment rooms as well as storage and gym/rehabilitation area. We are adding new treatment equipment we previously didn’t have room for.

“Access for patients should be much easier now, and we love the idea of being part of what is quickly becoming a much more active Main Street in Washougal with several new shops and eateries,” he added.

Williams said they plan to add at least one part-time physical therapist. In addition to McCarthy and Williams, there are five employees.

Suite 136 is currently an empty space.

Walsh Construction, the general contractor, will complete the build-out with assistance from subcontractors for the plumbing and electrical work.

“We are excited for Washougal Sport & Spine’s expansion and relocation,” said Adam Taylor, a leasing manager for Lone Wolf Development. “By moving downstairs, Steve and Kim are furthering their commitment to downtown Washougal, and we believe that their growing physical therapy business will bring a significant amount of foot traffic to all the businesses on Main Street.”Washougal Sport & Spine Physical Therapy provides pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation, individual training programs, pain and injury recovery, ACL injury prevention training and orthopedic sports screenings.
