Students from Camas and Washougal high schools combined their efforts to collect a total of 54,000 pounds of food and clothing during the annual Stuff the Bus event. Above, Sophie Shoemaker, a CHS senior, organizes food donations during Stuff the Bus. “It’s been really good,” she said. “We have a lot of food and the Life Skills students really helped us by bringing in another $1,000 worth. It is all coming together and everyone is working together.” All donations stay in the Camas and Washougal areas and this year will be given to the Children’s Home Society, Inter-faith Treasure House, the C.A.R.O.L program and American Legion. “Our students work extremely hard to collect for five weeks,” noted Lori Webb, Stuff the Bus coordinator. “All money that was collected was spent on food. Washougal Safeway, Grocery Outlet and Walmart were huge supporters…the excitement to help our community is overwhelming.”
