Celebrations 
Mitchell
Clair and Rose Mitchell will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary Dec. 31, 2014. They live in the Ahwatukee area of Phoenix, Ariz.
They met through mutual friends, and Clair fell hard for Rose. They married in 1944 in Baker City, Ore. With a love of dancing, they spent many years with the Saraban. They have lived in Sacramento, Portland, Washougal and Vancouver, and spent a few years in the Middle East (Bahrain and Saudi Arabia) while Clair worked for General Electric.
Rose retired from Wells Fargo Bank and Clair retired from General Electric. They then joined American Adventure and enjoyed traveling by motor home with family and friends. They were the typical snow birds, spending several winters in Phoenix before they made it their year-round home in 2001.
They are members of the Parish of St. Benedict.
The couple celebrated their anniversary Dec. 6 with family in Phoenix.
They have four children, Jim Mitchell of Taos, N.M., John Mitchell of Phoenix, Ron Mitchell of Washougal, Mary Remington of Phoenix; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and another on the way.
