State Board of Education will meet this week

The Washington State Board of Education will meet at Educational Service District 112 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday to discuss the kindergarten through 12th grade system’s transition to career and college-ready standards, and impacts on high school graduation requirements. Students in the Class of 2019 will be the first class impacted by many of these changes.

Educational Service District 112 is located at 2500 North 65th Ave., Vancouver.

The Board will also be reviewing a study on indicators of educational system health, and the progress of schools and districts under state ‘required action’ improvement plans,’ among other topics.
