WHS softball team beats 4A Skyview

Kayla Lagerquist and the Washougal High School girls softball team held Skyview scoreless for six innings Monday.

The Storm scored two runs in the seventh, but the Panthers held on for a 4-2 victory at Skyview High School.

Lagerquist went the distance on the mound for Washougal.

Morgan Ratcliff and Paige Forsberg both knocked in two runs for the Panthers. Courtney Shelley had three hits and scored two runs. Abby Young doubled and came around to touch home plate. Kiera Stogin added a hit.

Washougal and Skyview each had six hits. The Storm made four errors, while the Panthers played flawless defense.

Washougal hosts Mountain View, another 4A school, today. First pitch is at 4 p.m.
