Molly Coston takes oath as Washougal’s next mayor

Washougal Mayor Sean Guard administered the oath of office to the next Mayor, Molly Coston, Thursday, Dec. 28, in Washougal City Hall. More than 40 friends, family members and other supporters of Coston attended the swearing in ceremony that also included incumbent City Council members Paul Greenlee (right) and Brent Boger taking their oaths of office. Coston's term in office will officially begin at 12:01 a.m., Monday, Jan. 1, 2018. "I really look forward to 2018," Coston said. "I think it's going to be a wonderful year, and I look forward to the challenge of being your mayor." Newly elected Washougal Position 6 Councilwoman Julie Russell will take her oath of office during the City Council's next regular meeting, at 7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 8, at City Hall. Coston, Greenlee, Boger and Councilman Ray Kutch will be ceremonially sworn in on Jan. 8.
