Neighbors are light at end of the tunnel

Listen up world, despite all of the negative news and very bad name calling in the news papers, television and radio. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

That light shined down on my wife and I last Wednesday, as we going to leave the parking space in front of the Camas Post Office and my red truck would not start. “Oh, what to do?” my wife asked. “Have no fear,” I replied, we have had AAA insurance for 38 years. So, I called them.

As we sat in our truck with the hood up, several good people stopped and offered to help, there was a young, very well-dressed lady who was very determined to help, I had a difficult time convincing her that Triple A was on the way.

After a while, waiting in the afternoon sun, a man from across the street from the muffler shop said we had sat there long enough in the hot sun.

With a modern marvel in his hand, he hooked it up to truck battery and started our vehicle. We were on our way home in minutes.

So this tells us that there are a lot of good upstanding people in this country and we don’t need to keep looking for help from big organizations, companies or government. Our BEST INSURANCE are our neighbors around us!

I am VERY proud to be a citizen of Camas and this country with its wonderful, helpful people, A very big thank you to you all.

P.S. We never did see AAA. I called them and said that we were under way!

Lawrence “John” Dvorak, Camas
