PUBLIC MEETINGS

Camas Library Board: The Board of Trustees will meet from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 8, in Meeting Room A of the Camas Public Library, 625 N.E. Fourth Ave., Camas.

LIBRARY PROGRAMS

Camas Public Library: Preschool Storytime for children ages 3 to 5 years will be held at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m., Friday, Aug. 10, and Tuesday, Aug. 13. Slavic storytime (in Russian and Ukrainian) will begin at 10:15 a.m., Monday, Aug. 12. Korean storytime will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12. Tiny Tots Storytime will be held at 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 14. Baby Storytime will be held at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 15. The Community Sewing Group will meet at 1 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 8. Teens and adults ages 13 and older can try the virtual reality Oculus Rift or Oculus Go at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 8, at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 10, at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 14, or at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 15.  There will be a blood drive at the library at 10 a.m., Monday, Aug. 12. Storytime in the Park will be held from 11 to 11:30 a.m., Monday, Aug. 12, at Forest Home Park, 640 N.W. Logan St., Camas. Origami with Yuki will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 13. Mystery and Mayhem, a mystery book group for adults, will be held from 6 to 7:45 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 13. Stitching in the Stacks, a drop-in embroidery group for ages 12 and older, will take place from 3:30 to 5 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 14, in the Teen Room. Washougal Community Library: Family storytime, for babies, toddlers, preschoolers and children, will meet from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Friday, Aug. 9. Struggling with your tablet or smartphone? Come to the library’s Technology Workshop: Mobile Devices Lab, where library staff will answer tablet and smartphone questions, from 4 to 5 p.m., Friday, Aug. 9. Craft and Play will be held from 2 to 3 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 13. Harmonica Pocket Rock-n-Read, for toddlers and young children, will be held from 2 to 3 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 14. ART GALLERIES AND MUSEUMS

Attic Gallery: The gallery is showcasing “Double Vision: A Two Person Show” featuring encaustic paintings by Sheary Clough Suiter and mixed media paintings by Nard Claar, throughout the month of August. The gallery is located at 408 N.E. Fourth Ave., Camas. For more information, call 360-817-2415.

Second Story Gallery: The Northwest Oil Painters Guild will show their art work throughout  the months of August and September at the Second Story Gallery, located on the second floor of the Camas Public Library. The art is available for viewing during regular library hours: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Wednesday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday through Saturday. SENIOR CITIZENS

Meals on Wheels: Lunches, prepared by The Meals on Wheels People, are served at 11:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday, in the Washougal Community Center, at 1681 “C” St., Washougal. Meals on Wheels home delivery is available Monday through Friday. Volunteers are needed. Washougal Senior Center: Meals on Wheels provides coffee from 10 to 11:30 a.m., and serves lunch at 11:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday. The center hosts a food bank at 11 a.m., Mondays. Activities offered during the week include: cribbage, bingo, bunco, pinochle, billiards, watercolor painting and exercise classes. A breakfast fundraiser, to support Washougal Community Center activities, is held on the last Friday of each month (except November and December) from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. The cost is $5. A potluck is held on the first Friday of each month. Refuel Friday, sponsored by local churches and nonprofits, is offered from 4 to 6 p.m. every Friday. CLASS REUNIONS

Camas High School class of 1969: The class will hold its 50th class reunion from 5:30 to 9 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 21, at a Beer at a Time, 216 N.E. Third Ave., Camas. Cost is $5. CLUBS AND GROUPS

Women Supporting Women: A support group for women, ages 55 and older, meets from 1:30 to 3 p.m., on Wednesdays, at Firstenburg Community Center, 700 N.E. 136th Ave., Vancouver. Led by Sandra Soleberg, this is a safe place for women to share hopes, dreams, fears, losses, living with illness, aging and loneliness. Camas Group Recovery: The group meets from 8 to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 7 to 8 p.m., on Sundays, at Camas Friends Church, 1004 N.E. Ione St.

Watercolorists group: The watercolor group meets from 1:30 to 3 p.m., every Tuesday, at the Washougal Community Center, 1681 “C” St. This is not an instructed class; however, there is a group critique at the end of the session. All are welcome.

VOLUNTEERS

Lost and Found Cafe: Meals are served to the community at 6 p.m., each Thursday, at the Zion Lutheran Church social hall, 824 N.E. Fourth Ave., Camas. Volunteer cooks are needed. For more information, call Inter-Faith Treasure House Executive Director Nancy Wilson at 360-834-4181.

CLASSES

Lacamas Athletic Club: On the first Friday of each month, non-members can visit Lacamas Athletic Club, 2950 N.W. 38th Ave., Camas, free of charge. The gym offers classes, a cardio room and a weight room. For more information, call Karen at 360-834-8506.
