The Camas-Washougal Summer Meals Program 2020, a partnership between Share Vancouver and the Camas Friends Church, is available from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each weekday, now through Aug. 14, at Hamllik Park, located at 4285 Addy St., in Washougal.

The program will not serve meals on Friday, July 3, due to the Fourth of July holiday.

The program provides nutritious meals to children age 18 and younger during the summer months, when they no longer have access to free or reduced school meals.

In keeping with COVID-19 precautions, this year’s program features a “grab and go” service, where children and families can drive through or walk up to pick up their meals.

Children must be present to receive a meal, but are not required to eat their meal on site. Every child age 18 and younger has access to the sack lunches, no questions asked.

Due to the change in the program’s format during the COVID-19 pandemic, the program is unable to offer meals to adults. Camas Friends Church does, however, have a food pantry that is open to all.

Visit camasfriends.org for food pantry information and hours of operation.

The program also will not have on-site activities due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Camas Friends Church is prioritizing the cleanliness and safety of the meal distribution site to help protect volunteers and families from COVID-19.
