Washougal police say they are still seeking the suspect of a reported attempted kidnapping.

According to a Washougal police news release, a 13-year-old Washougal girl was walking home near the 300 block of Sixth Street around 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 18, when a man began to chase her and attempted to grab her. The teen was able to elude the suspect and make it to her home safely, police said.

Officers responded to the scene but were unable to locate the suspect, described as a 5-foot-10-inch white male around 40 years old who was wearing a black Seahawks beanie-style hat, dark brown jacket and blue pants, and carrying a backpack with a small American flag attached.

Anyone who may have information that can help identify the suspect is asked to contact the Washougal Police Department by calling 311.
