The Urban County Policy Board of Clark County has awarded the city of Washougal a $50,000 grant to add half-court basketball to Hamllik Park.
The court will represent the latest in a series of improvements to the park, which received new benches and tables, repainted restrooms, repairs to its bicycle track and new dugout roofs last year.
The city will also install a new playground at the park this spring.
“I think the playground was 23 years old, so it was definitely time for some upgrades there,” city public works business administrator Michellee Wright told the Post-Record in October 2021. “This is a really special park. It’s got amazing parking and allows neighbors to play and recreate and have barbecues.”
