One person was injured and taken to a hospital as a result of a house fire in Washougal on April 25.

Camas-Washougal FIre Department (CWFD), East County Fire and Rescue, and Vancouver Fire Department firefighters responded to a report of a fire burning through the roof of one of the single-unit apartment buildings at 2221 Main Street in Washougal just before 4 a.m., according to the CWFD.

“Neighboring apartment buildings were damaged by the heat, but crews were able to keep the fire from spreading to them,” the CWFD stated in a Facebook post. “The heavy fire conditions forced crews to fight the fire from the exterior. The fire was declared under control around 5 a.m., and the cause is currently being investigated.”

A CWFD ambulance transported one patient with burns. No other injuries were reported.
