The Parade of Homes returns to Camas this year, debuting a luxury townhome for the first time in the event’s history.

Alexa Lee, president of the Building Industry Association of Clark County, which puts on the Parade of Homes now in its 47th year, said the show has a home in every size for today’s homebuyer.

“This year’s GRO Parade of Homes demonstrates that the future of liveability is not relegated to square footage,” she said in a news release.

The event will feature six homes, built by Pacific Lifestyle Homes, Urban NW Homes, NW Fortune Development and NR Construction Concepts.

Five of the six are single-family homes ranging from 2,527 to 5,445 square feet, all with four bedrooms.

They tout amenities including a golf cart garage leading onto the Camas Meadows Golf Course, a backyard putting green, fitness rooms, a butler’s pantry, outdoor kitchens and saunas.

Urban NW Homes is planning its 5,445-square-foot home, Fairway Edge, to be net zero on greenhouse gas emissions with an electric vehicle charging backup and solar power.

Pacific Lifestyle Homes’ townhomes vary in size, but the company will show its 2,117-square-foot, three-bedroom model, The Camaloch, at September’s event.

The parade has always wanted to have homes of various sizes and styles, said Noelle Lovern, executive director of the Building Industry Association of Clark County. But it wasn’t necessarily feasible because of neighborhood bylaws.

Pacific Lifestyle Homes has long been adamant about making sure there are housing options for people at different income levels, Lovern said. And new state legislation opened the door for more duplexes, triplexes and quadplexes in low-density residential neighborhoods.

Danielle Kilian, senior director of events and development for the association, said the townhomes will offer exactly what attendees expect from the Parade of Homes each year, just on a smaller scale.

Kilian said Pacific Lifestyle Homes has been intentional about the decisions that were made with the design.

“They’ve really scrutinized what they’re putting in there,” she said. “So I believe it’s going to be a very interesting take on a townhouse.”

This year’s event will include more homes than last year, including one inspired by a Scandinavian spa, and will include parking adjacent to the site.
