Two local youth soccer teams won championships at the Washington State Recreational Cup tournament, held Dec. 13-14 in Tukwila.
The Camas Washougal Soccer Academy’s 12G Golden Kickers took first place in its division, coached by Camas resident Scott Pushkaric and consisting of 12- and 13-year-old girls from Camas and Washougal.
The Camas-based Pink Lightning U10 team also took first place in its division. The group has played together for more than three years and built a strong bond on and off the field, according to coach Robert Heinz.
“The team showcased grit and teamwork throughout the tournament,” Heinz said in an email to the Post-Record. Beyond the scores, this victory marks a milestone for a team whose friendships and shared experiences have created lasting core memories. Pink Lightning’s journey is a testament to dedication, camaraderie, and the joy of the game.”
The team was coached by Heinz, Ryan Paulson, and Ryan Juddah.
