Salon Dye Pretty, an established small business that recently moved into a new location in Camas, will host a grand opening celebration from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at the salon, 7085 N.W. Friberg-Strunk St., Ste. 340, Camas.

The event will feature a DJ, hourly raffles with prizes worth over $200, refreshments, exclusive discounts on services and products, styling demonstrations and complimentary consultations for all guests.

Owner and stylist Shannon Hansen brings over a decade of experience in the beauty industry, including seven years working at an Aveda salon in Camas.

In March 2020, Hansen opened Dye Pretty Studio, but had to close within one week of her opening due to the COVID pandemic. After navigating through those challenges, Hansen was determined to rebuild. In November 2022, she expanded into a larger space and soon discovered a passion for mentorship, working closely with newer stylists and fostering an environment of collaboration, creativity and inclusivity for both her team and her clients.

“I’ve always been the friend who did everyone’s hair, but my first love was fine art,” Hansen said. “When I decided to switch gears and pursue a career in cosmetology, it was because I knew I could use my artistic background to create beautiful things and help people feel their best. I want every client to leave the salon not only with beautiful hair but also feeling cared for, valued and empowered.”

Hansen and her husband, Jared, who helps by supporting the business side of the salon operations, have built a strong foundation in the community. They’ve raised their family in the Camas area, and Shannon said her deep-rooted connection to Camas drives her to not only serve her clients but also to uplift the entire community.

In line with her eco-friendly approach, Salon Dye Pretty partners with Davines, a sustainable beauty brand that shares their commitment to environmental responsibility. The salon has also implemented an in-salon recycling program.

“I’ve always believed in supporting the people around us, and this salon is no different,” says Hansen. “When you take care of your people and the world around you, everything else falls into place. It’s about building relationships, not just clients, and that’s how I want to be known in our community.”
