The third annual Camas Comic Con themed First Friday will bring cosplay, art activities, games, family friendly photo opportunities and more to downtown Camas from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1.

Hosted by the Downtown Camas Association, the annual event draws fans of comics, sci-fi, anime, Disney, Harry Potter, fantasy, movies and anything else that inspires fandom.

Comic Con passports and activity lists will be available starting at 5 p.m. Friday inside Journey Church, 304 N.E. Fourth Ave., and the first 300 people to collect their passports will receive a limited-edition 2025 Camas Comic Con book, sponsored by downtown merchants.

Visitors can fill out “Fandom Fun” passports by answering fandom trivia and puzzles found at downtown Camas businesses for a chance to win prizes.

Another fan favorite also returns to downtown Camas on Friday, when the DCA hosts a ribbon-cutting at 5 p.m. for the “Little Bronze Girl” statue. Stolen in May from her spot near the fountain at the corner of Northeast Fourth Avenue and Northeast Cedar Street, but discovered safe just days later, the Little Bronze Girl statue has been reinstated and will be available for photos from 5:15-6:30 p.m. Friday. Attendees are encouraged to pose with the statue. The DCA will share a special online Facebook album capturing the celebration.

Other First Friday events on Aug. 1 will include:

* a Creative Corner inside Fuel Medical, 314 N.E. Birch St., where visitors can learn to draw in the Kawaii (Japanese for cute) style, make a thumbprint character and learn tips from local comic book artist Samuel Staples

* wandering photo opportunities with the 501st Star Wars Legion of Oregon and the Ghostbusters team

* a life-sized TARDIS from “Doctor Who,” parked in front of the Liberty Theatre, 315 N.E. Fourth Ave

* fandom stickers available while supplies last inside Fuel Medical

* a make-a-mask activity and free popcorn at Grace Church, 717 S.E. Everett St.

* after-hours shopping and dining specials throughout downtown Camas

* art shows and receptions at Artizen Acupuncture, 540 N.E. Cedar St.; Attic Gallery, 419 N.E. Cedar St.; Gallery 408, 408 N.E. Fourth Ave.; RedDoor Gallery, 411 N.E. Dallas St.; and Second Story Gallery, which will present a middle school art exhibit featuring artwork by Liberty, Odyssey and Skyridge middle school students on the second floor of the Camas Public Library, 625 N.E.
