Editor’s note: This article was update Aug. 4, to include current Washington State Parks rules for e-bikes on non-motorized, natural surface trails. 

With more people turning to electric bicycles and electric-powered motorcycles for a convenient, environmentally friendly and often more cost-effective mode of transportation, local officials are fielding more questions about the rules and regulations governing these zippy two-wheelers.
