A festival celebrating the LGBTQ community returns to the Columbia River Gorge this weekend with a full day of celebration, visibility and community Sunday, June 8, in downtown Stevenson.

Now in its third year, the annual Skamania Pride event continues to grow in impact and attendance — welcoming 150 participants in 2023 and more than 250 in 2024. Organizers are expecting even more attendees in 2025 as the event expands its programming and community partnerships.

This year’s Pride event features a keynote address from Asia Wisecarver, a 2004 Stevenson High School graduate who now serves as the executive director of Playworks Pacific Northwest and as the general manager of the Oregon Ravens, a professional women’s football team.
Wisecarver, a former women’s tackle football player, coach and mentor, was recently honored with a 2025 “She Flies” community award by Sport Oregon and has been named to the Portland Business Journal’s “40 Under 40.”

Wisecarver will return home to serve as Skamania Pride’s keynote speaker and grand marshal of the Skamania Pride parade.

The celebration begins at 10 a.m. with a welcome gathering. Wisegarver will deliver the keynote address at 11 a.m. and the parade lineup begins at 11:30 a.m. with the Pride Parade starting at noon at Stevenson Exhibit Hall and proceeding down Rock Creek Drive to Highway 14 before circling the Stevenson Community Library and returning via Vancouver Avenue.

A silent disco, with dancers wearing individual headsets, will take place between noon and 5 p.m. at the Stevenson Exhibit Hall.

The event also offers a free clothing exchange that is open to all, with participants asked to bring clean, gently used clothing to exchange; a market and community resource fair featuring local vendors, LGBTQ organizations, community booths, games for families and a bookmobile; a free lunch and dinner; and live music and community entertainment from 5-8 p.m.

The Stevenson Exhibit Hall will be maintained as a mostly quiet, low-sensory zone throughout the day for those needing to rest, reflect and be calm.
Skamania Pride is a free, family-friendly event open to everyone.
